Two honourable mentions for:
- Decorative castings of the specimens of flora and fauna made in ceramic moulds from artificial and „real" patterns
and
- "Ekomix" and bentonite-Ekomix mixtures called "Cermix 15; 20; 25", which are environment-friendly moulding compositions used in manufacture of high-quality iron castings (jointly with CERTECH Technical-Trade Enterprise from Niedomice).

On the 9th of March 2009, the opening ceremony of the 16th Fair of Polish Inventions took place. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Prof. Barbara Kudrycka, Minister of Science and Higher Education, who handed the diplomas and commemorative cups. The Foundry Research Institute in Cracow received the diplomas for:
- "Iinventions promoted in foreign countries"
- "A set of versatile and advanced apparatus for high-temperature studies of liquid metals and alloys" (N. Sobczak, R. Nowak, W. Radziwiłł, A. Glenz, J. Budzioch)
- "A method to manufacture abrasion wear resistant blades cast from ausferritic-martensitic ductile iron for fettling machines and mixers " (A. Kowalski, A. Nowak)

In the period of 24-26 September 2008, in exhibition pavilions of Kielce Fair, the 14th International Fair of Technologies for Foundry METAL took place. In a competition announced by the Management Board of the Fair, on the 25th of September 2008, the Foundry Research Institute in Cracow was the only R&D centre to win two medals for:
- Centre of Rapid Prototyping
- Turbine blades for OWT 400 fettling machine, developed jointly with Odlewnie Polskie S.A. Starachowice
and
- Honourable Mention for thin-walled casting of highly developed surface made by rapid prototyping technique.

The Jubilee Edition of International Poznań Fair, held in the period of 9 to 12 June 2008 under a motto: Innovations - Technologies - Machines ITM 2008, was a great success of the Foundry Research Institute in Cracow. In a packet called Foundry Park and Science for Economy, our Institute presented its offer comprising, among others, "Ultralight ALFA Aluminium Brake Disks of High Utility Properties Reinforced with Fly Ash Particles", which won the Gold Medal.

With great satisfaction we announce that our staff member, Ms Janina Radzikowska, MSc., Eng., won the Crystal Flask - a prize honouring „The Best Laboratory Worker of the Year". Ms Radzikowska received the Prize on the 1st of June 2008 at Jurata during the 14th Symposium "Information technology applied in laboratories" organised by the Polish Club of Testing Laboratories.
The Prize was awarded by Editors of the LAB Magazine.
Ms Janina Radzikowska is author of the images of microstructures well-known in Poland and abroad, as proved by numerous national and international awards and distinctions.

In a competition announced by the Management Board of Kielce Metal 2007 Fair, on the 27th of September 2007, the Foundry Research Institute in Cracow was the only R&D centre to win a medal of the 13th International Fair of Technologies for Foundry for "Implementation and manufacture of a pilot batch of innovative castings".
The work covered advanced aluminium composite castings of discs, a gearbox housing cast from magnesium alloy for Maserati car from 1944 (a reconstruction), ploughshares cast from new advanced iron grade (ADI), and cast rotor for hydraulic pump operating in an artificial heart.

Additionally, as a token of gratitude for the long-lasting cooperation, help and support rendered to the Kielce fairs, our Institute was honoured with "A Contributor to our Success" diploma and statuette.

Gold Medal with Honourable Mention during 56 „Brussels EUREKA 2007" World Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technology won by the Foundry Research Institute in Cracow and Motor Transport Institute in Warsaw for "Ultralight ALFA Aluminium Brake Disks of High Utility Properties Reinforced with Fly Ash Particles".

The Prize was handed by Minister of Economy, Deputy Prime Minister Mr Waldemar Pawlak, during a gala ceremony held in Warsaw by PARP - Polish Agency for Enterprise Development on the 17th of December 2007.
