Solidscape T612BT model – a device to make high-accuracy patterns from wax compositions

Casting from lost wax patterns has been known and widely used in foundries since many thousand years. At present, patterns of this type are moulded in dies made of metal, resin, silicone rubber, etc. Sometimes, to solve the problems of market demand, it is necessary to reproduce the wax pattern from a 3D drawing, and then CAD systems for wax pattern manufacture are used.

A device of this type is the 3D T612BT wax printer made by SOLIDSCAPE. It ensures high accuracy and precision of the pattern fabrication in all available techniques of the rapid prototyping. The ready wax prototypes are next used in the manufacture of ceramic moulds and investment castings.

The system is running on the following operating parameters:
  • Controlled thickness of vertically deposited layers (axis "Z") - from 0,0127 to 0,127 mm,
  • Surface finish (root mean-squared roughness) - 8x10* to 1.6x10"3 mm,
  • Minimum size of object - 0,254 mm,
  • Configuration settings for three pattern layer thicknesses - 0,0127, 0,0254, 0,0508,
  • Maximum pattern envelope - 15,24 (for T612E pattern - 30,48) x 15,24x15,24 cm,
  • Small dimensions - width x depth x height: 55,88 (for T612BT pattern - 71.12 cm) x 49,53 x 49,53 cm,
  • Current feeding - 230 V, 50 Hz,
  • Optimum operating temperature of wax printer - 16-27 0C,
  • The device has got CE certificate and FCC certificate of class A (USA Federal Communications Commission).
Advantages:
  • Controlled layers deposition rate and parameters of the created object,
  • Possible out-of-control operation for about 72 hours,
  • Possible continuation of operation after arresting and reactivating of the device,
  • Material feeding during task performance,
  • Automatic monitoring of operation and diagnosis of faults (on the spot or remote),
  • Easy removal of base material,
  • No need for pattern finishing treatment.
